I live with two chronic illnesses (fibromyalgia & diabetes) and some days are a struggle just to get out of my room and into the living room, let alone accomplish much more than breathing in and out.  So our family has started to make adjustments that allow us more flexibility in doing chores.

Today’s tip is about how to easily fold laundry when you are having a pain day.  Hubby and the kids do the laundry downstairs and then bring it up for me.  To fold it more easily, I simply dump it onto the dining room table so I can sit, fold and sort without straining back or shoulder/neck muscles.  I get a small (but important!) sense of accomplishment, and I’m doing my bit to help in the running of the household.

Do you have tips for living or working with a chronic illness? Please let me know in the comments!
